Julie became active in the march against Animal Abuse after she met a puppy named Magnum in 2005. His story along with some very passionate supporters inspired our legislators to pass a law that enforces stricter punishment on those people that neglect or abuse an animal. Heartland clients continue to donate and have helped to offset the costs of many needy pets through their recovery and on to their forever home.
Anyone who has been at our clinic enough to see her begging for your undivided attention, our beloved Momma, clinic cat. Momma was brought to our clinic in the Summer of 2001. She had been hit by a car that broke her front leg and back, leaving her paralyzed. After realizing how sweet and loving she was, the doctors and staff decided to rehabilitate her and let her live at the clinic. Although she is not able to walk, she is fully capable of getting around... in or out of her wheel chair.
